About Care and Relief Foundation
The Care & Relief Foundation (CRB) was born out of compassion and a deep commitment to serve during one of the most challenging times – the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. When hospitals were overwhelmed, and resources were scarce, our founder, Divender Singh Cheema, along with a group of dedicated volunteers, stepped up to provide urgent medical aid. From blood donations to oxygen supplies, CRB became a beacon of hope for those in critical need.
What started as a crisis response quickly grew into something larger. On August 2, 2021, CRB was officially registered as a nonprofit organization. Since then, we’ve expanded our mission to focus on accessible healthcare, community outreach, and educational empowerment for marginalized communities.
With a focus on both immediate needs and long-term empowerment, we continue to address pressing social issues with dedication, passion, and a vision for sustainable change.

Meet Our Leadership Team
- The heart of CRB’s work lies in the dedication and vision of our leadership team. Each member brings a unique set of skills, experiences, and passion for social justice, guiding the foundation toward fulfilling its mission:
- Divender Singh Cheema, President: Founder of CRB, Divender led the charge during the second wave of COVID-19, turning his passion for community service into a movement for accessible healthcare.
- Arul Pillai, Community Outreach Coordinator: Arul brings years of experience in grassroots mobilization, ensuring that CRB’s initiatives reach the people who need them most.
- Shashank Shukla, Healthcare Programs Director: With a background in healthcare management, Shashank oversees CRB’s health camps, blood drives, and medical collaborations.
- Rohit Ashokan, Operations Head: Rohit manages the day-to-day operations, ensuring that CRB’s programs run smoothly and effectively.
- Aishanya Paliwal, Volunteer and Internship Manager: Aishanya is responsible for recruiting, training, and empowering our growing team of volunteers and interns.
- Yuvraj Patel, Finance and Fundraising Lead: Yuvraj ensures that CRB’s initiatives are financially sustainable, working closely with donors, sponsors, and partners to secure the resources needed to continue our mission.
Our Milestones
- 2022: Awarded by Action Aid for exceptional contributions to healthcare and community service in Bhopal.
- October 2021: Hosted our first Garba Fundraiser Event, raising funds for community outreach programs and healthcare initiatives.
- August 2021: Held our first major health camp, providing free diabetic checkups, eye exams, and distributing free spectacles to underserved communities.
- June 2021: CRB donated mobile toilets to Hamidia Hospital and Sultania Zanana Hospital, addressing the urgent need for sanitation facilities.
- April 23, 2021: CRB was founded by Divender Singh Cheema and his friends during the second wave of COVID-19, starting with blood donations and oxygen supply.
